VolunteerCrossing is a branch of founder and CEO A. Harrison Barnes's legal portal site LawCrossing, the largest most expansive listing of employment opportunities for lawyers that exists. LawCrossing is an outgrowth of A. Harrison Barnes desire to create the most expedient way for lawyers to find jobs at a nominal price. He started out as an attorney, and found that the method that most people used to find legal jobs was outdated and inefficient. Combing endless job boards and websites, in addition to hiring a recruiter to fortify his job search, proved to be exasperating. He came to the conclusion that there was no central source established to aid lawyers in their search for gainful employment. He wanted to establish a centralized system that would become a wellspring of opportunity for those seeking employment in the legal field.
He created BCG Attorney Search, a legal recruiting firm that successfully and consistently accrued more positions than any other American legal recruiting firm. Barnes soon realized, however, that BCG was an exclusive service, only truly effective for attorneys with impeccable credentials. He subsequently started Legal Authority, to give lawyers with less impressive credentials access to all the legal employers targeted in specific regions. Legal authority is an expensive service, and Barnes was still searching for a more effective tool to aid in attorneys' job search without the financial burden. He therefore developed a database that centralized every available job in the legal industry in one location and charged a minimal fee, offering information on everything from employer career webpages and job boards to newspaper classified ads.
This new service is called LawCrossing and has been so successful that Barnes has expanded this central theme to other industries, and developed over 100 new websites under the umbrella of EmploymentCrossing for those seeking employment in a myriad of industries. His efforts have proved to be highly successful, and LawCrossing, EmploymentCrossing and affiliated sites have offered only top-notch services and benefits to professionals seeking to advance their careers.
