Environmental Volunteer Jobs
An environmental volunteer may work in a variety of settings: schools, environmental non-profit organizations, community groups, and national parks and leaders in grass-roots efforts to protect the environment, groups working on projects such as establishing forest conservation plans and developing alternatives to wood as a fuel source, teaching in schools and creating new curriculum, and promoting soil conservation and watershed management. An environmental volunteer assists supervisor in assignment distribution, equipment care, prioritizing, training, and interdepartmental communications. An environmental volunteer performs project cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager following prescribed procedures and aspects of project development, from feasibility study to its implementation. An environmental volunteer works on environmental issues, giving people the knowledge to develop programs that are best to protect and preserve the environment also develops environment projects and sustainable rural development with the objective of improving life quality and increasing income and preserving the environmental conditions.
An environmental volunteer requires a bachelor's degree in environmental education science/ studies/ interpretation, natural resources, conservation or ecology with expressed interest in promoting environmental awareness in schools and communities. An environmental volunteer may requires minimum experience of three years in park planning/administration, resource management or environmental volunteer. An environmental volunteer must be able to read, write, and communicate in English and leadership skills and cross-cultural awareness are also sought.
