A park volunteer job involves guiding nature walks in long valley, a roving naturalist, ranger station assistant, and docent for school programs. A park volunteer must have a signed waiver on file with the parks department prior to volunteering. A park volunteer must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and law enforcement officers; ability to deal tactfully with the public; knowledge of the geography of the county, location of existing parks, park rules, and regulations, or the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly.
