That is right, you get your summers off! The core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Flexible as needed with evening and weekend hours required. However, schedule is subject to change by the supervisor. Madison College offers a generous total rewards package. Organizational Function and Responsibilities: This position serves as the coordinator of campus-wide volunteer/community service programming, including the supervision and advising of the Volunteer Center Program Board, development and maintaining of the Service Learning Academy and other volunteer/community service events to educate and enrich the campus community, and support community-based organizations throughout the district and beyond. This position will also serve as one of the coordinators promoting and educating others on the value of service learning and work to implement the college's service learning strategic plan. This position reports to the Director of Student Life, is part of the Student Development and Success division of the college. This position may coordinate the work of student help. Essential Duties: The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. 1. Develops and maintains college-wide volunteer/community service initiatives, which create an environment of collaboration between the community and college and provides opportunities for reflective and active learning. 2. Maintains community service computerized matching, reporting and tracking system, which maintains information from community based organizations and agencies seeking volunteer assistance and encourages students' response to requests for volunteers. 3. Assists faculty with the development of service learning activities. 4. Serves as advisor to the students serving on Volunteer Center Board of Directors. Develops and provides training opportunities for student participants, including though not limited to creation of handbook and resource materials. Assists students in selecting appropriate service related opportunities.
