Reverence Home Health and Hospice, an Ascension Health at Home Company,
has an immediate opening for a Full Time
Volunteer Coordinator in the Clinton Township Area.
This position is responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, directing and evaluating volunteers. Also responsible for management and development of all volunteer programs, key person in developing and implementing local fundraising activities with agency leadership and the home office community outreach staff, and for coordinating community education efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Active participation in meeting agency customer satisfaction goals.
Create predictability for patients by following standard practices and using KEY WORDS AT KEY TIMES to decrease caregiver anxiety.
Promote AHAH by always putting the patient first.
Recruits, evaluates and selects volunteer applicants according to organization standards. Provide orientation for new volunteers and ongoing support, problem solving and education. Assigns volunteers to meet program needs appropriate to volunteer interests and skills, and patient/family need.
Promote a positive culture among and across the hospice team.
Promote teamwork and shared responsibility for attaining the agency mission and vision.
Actively engage in QAPI initiatives and compliance activities.
Take part in professional development to maintain qualifications for role; completes CBTs in a timely manner.
Provides supervision and conducts an annual evaluation of each volunteer. Functions as a liaison between IDG and volunteers. Participates in IDG meetings.
Maintains a file for each volunteer that includes application, role description, background check documents and other compliance related information.
Prepare statistical reports on volunteer hours quarterly and as requested.
Collaborates with other coordinators and leadership staff to develop policies and procedures related to the standard operation of the hospice volunteer program across Ministry Home Care.
Represents and promotes hospice to various community groups through educational programs. Organize and participates in seminars, workshops and/or continuing educational programs and public relations activities. Involves other staff in community education as appropriate.
Together with agency and home office leadership, actively participate in developing and conducting local fundraising efforts.
Maintain productivity standards.
Promote efficiency in use of supplies and visit utilization including mileage.
Documents volunteer hours cost savings in accordance with Medicare guidelines.
Is an ambassador for the agency in daily encounters with referral sources.
Promote positive relationships with contracted facilities.

Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
A current driver’s license, use of car and proof of auto insurance are required.
Minimum of one (1) year of orginizing or leading a team.
Experience in organizing and directing volunteers preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must be interested and comfortable in fundraising, public speaking and management; experience preferred.
Requires the ability to organize, supervise, assess, and direct volunteer activities.
