FRANCIS RECOVERY CENTERCatholic Charities Maine is looking for a part-time to full time Substance Abuse Counselor in Auburn. This professional person is responsible for the development and implementation of a client's total treatment plan. The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: make appropriate referrals to other agencies and persons, including vocational, educational, social, occupational, and recreational, develop an appropriate treatment plan with each patient, be responsible for all aspects of care for the patient caseload, complete and maintain necessary records and reports in an accurate and confidential manner, provide transportation and accompany patients to other community providers when necessary, respect patient confidentiality at all times, attend required training programs and weekly staff meetings and maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record. They shall have a minimum of a Associates degree in social services or a closely related field or equivalent experience and/or training and be licensed as a Certified or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC or LADC). Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred but not required. In order to relate to a wide range of people, the Substance Abuse Counselor shall possess sensitivity toward others, comfort working with the substance abuser, a desire to advocate and reach out, a high energy level, dependability, limit setting skills, consistency, flexibility, organizational skills, good writing and oral skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work with a variety of lifestyles and behaviors, make sound clinical decisions, an ability to work effectively with a multi-interdisciplinary team.You may submit your cover letter and resume (indicating the position title) via our website (www.ccmaine.org) or email (hroffice@ccmaine.org), fax (207-523-2789), or mail to Human Resources Office, Catholic Charities Maine P.O.
