Company: Easterseals Capper FoundationPosition: Coordinator of Professional Development and VolunteersJob Classification: Exempt, Full-TimeWork Schedule: Forty (40) hours per week, occasional early mornings, evenings or weekendsReporting Relationship: Vice President of Development Primary Accountabilities: The Coordinator of Professional Development and Volunteers impacts all areas of the organization by implementing training programs which benefit professionals, caregivers, and consumers and by creating an environment for volunteers to use their time and talent to assist staff in carrying out the purpose of the Easterseals Capper Foundation (“ESCF”). This position also develops, schedules, markets and coordinates all aspects of the on-site and customized training programs relating to the purpose of ESCF. Major Duties:Works directly with the Vice President of Development to coordinate all volunteer services for all programs which include recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising and evaluating volunteer performance. Provides training and supervision of recreation, administrative, and support volunteers.Oversees volunteer retention and recognition and networks with other community agencies to assist with volunteer recruitment and retention.Coordinates and schedules the Ability Awareness Workshops for internal and external groups, and maintains and adjusts the materials and equipment, as needed.Prospects, cultivates and solicits sponsors and donors to support P&FT and Adult Service activities and manages these Donor Relations.Assist with development & marketing activities including special events, as needed.Works directly with the Vice President of Pediatric Services to explore training needs and to determine topics and instructors.Recruits training instructors and negotiates contract arrangements.Markets training programs to maximize registration (brochures and electronic marketing).Develops, schedules and coordinates training events (registration, fees, class materials, facilities, food service, audio-visual equipment, instructor travel arrangements, etc.).Gathers and evaluates consumer feedback to improve training services.Manages training databases.Collaborates with the Grant Committee to seek grant opportunities and corporate underwriting to provide financial support for the training programs.Prepares and manages the annual Professional Development budget. Work closely with the Accounting Manager to process all workshop registration fees.Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications:High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.Previous work experience or college course work in Communications, Human Services, English or Marketing is preferred.Previous volunteer experience and knowledge of the role of volunteers within a not-for-profit human services organization.Strong computer skills, particularly in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, In-Design, Publisher, and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.Read, write and speak fluent English.Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which includes public speaking.Organizational skills with ability to work independently to meet deadlines.Ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.Must be able to pass background checks and drug test per agency procedures. Physical Demands: Frequent bending, standing or sitting.Ability to read computer screens for an extended period.Ability to lift up to thirty (30) pounds. Work Environment:Direct contact with individuals who are severely physically and\/or developmentally disabled and who may exhibit unpredictable behavior and uncontrollable outbursts.
