Profile

Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, and the Housing & Development Director, the Accounting Technician II performs the following duties:

Process biweekly payroll in an accurate and timely fashion.

Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data required by payroll system.

Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests.

Other duties as assigned may include reconciliation of accounts to general ledgers, preparing audit schedules, other accounting assignments.

Under the supervision of Housing Management Staff:

Collect income certification documentation.

Conduct various tenant unit inspections including move-in, move-out, annual and others as required.

Conduct tenant initial, interim and annual income certifications.

Prepare tenant files for audits.

Tenant warning/termination delivery and proof of service.

Written correspondence.

Data collection and report generation for governmental funding sources.

Other duties as required.

Job Requirements

BA preferred, with at least 2 years of experience in processing Payroll. Proficiency in Financial software desired, excellent Excel skills required and familiarity with other Microsoft Office programs preferred. Ability to interact with adults with mental illness.

Also required are strong oral and written communication skills in English; criminal record clearance; over 21 or at least 2 years’ driving experience; valid California driver's license; auto in safe operating condition; auto liability insurance. This requirement can be waived for a qualified individual with a disability, who cannot drive due to disability.

Must be able to see well enough to read data on a computer screen and text in written documents; have the ability to perform extensive computer keyboard operations; hear normal conversations and answer phones; hand, finger, and body coordination sufficient to fulfill requirements of the position; stand and sit for extended periods of time; ability to climb stairs and to lift up to 25 lbs.
