plans, coordinates, directs and supervises the activities of a volunteer



Essential Responsibilities:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position.  Inability to perform these responsibilities

Supervises and is responsible for the activities of the Volunteer

Service.  Develops and administers entire program to recruit, select,

orient, assign and administratively supervise volunteers.  Develops and maintains a sound volunteer organizational

structure.  Performs or supervises public relations activities in

addressing private, civic, church groups and other organizations to promote the

purpose, functions and needs of a volunteer program.  Assists professional staff in determining the organizations

needs for volunteer services.  Develops handbooks and directions for volunteers.  Plans and supervise all volunteer orientation and training

programs.  Attends administrative and interdepartmental meetings,

volunteer and board activities.  Develops and maintains liaison with the hospital auxiliary

as approved by hospital administration.  Lectures on volunteer program at inservice training

','!*!Minimum Qualifications:



Bachelors degree in public relations, social science or a

related field

Experience: Three

(3) years of professional level experience in public relations, community

service or promotional fund raising work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.



Required: N/A



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of the principles

and methods of conducting, coordinating and supervising volunteer

programs.  Knowledge of volunteer

promotional campaigns and volunteer budget planning activities.  Skill in supervising and training others.

Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with

private, civic and church groups. 

Ability to organize and communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner,

both orally and in writing.
