Lehigh County Center for Recovery, an adult residential addiction treatment program has an immediate FT opening for an experienced Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Situated in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, LCCR provides comprehensive inpatient, detoxification and rehabilitation services at various levels of care including adult detox, adult inpatient, and adult outpatient treatment. Position responsibilities include: Individual must be familiar with conducting biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning in regards to co-occurring diagnoses and primarily focusing on substance abuse recovery. Counselor and patient will collaborate on treatment goals and attainment throughout their program stay. Counselor routinely assesses goals and progress being made. Counselor meets with patient for a MINIMUM of once per week for individual counseling. Caseload size varies from a minimum of 8 patients to a maximum of 12 patients. Candidate will facilitate\/co-facilitate group therapy 3-5 times per week.\u00a0 The candidate will be familiar with the stages of change and have two or more years experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues. ASAM trained is preferred. Counselor will be provided with a minimum of one on one monthly supervision (if master\u2019s level) in addition to monthly clinical group supervision. Must be able to take constructive feedback. Candidate must be a team player in order to collaborate with different departments and outside agencies and referral sources. Familiarity with local organizations a plus. Good communication skills are crucial and candidate must be able to have strong boundaries and work well under pressure in a fast paced work environment and handle crisis situations. Knowledge about current addiction trends and 12 step recovery programs is required. Candidate reports to the clinical supervisor. Candidate must be organized, motivated, computer savvy and able to meet documentation deadlines. Knowledge of counseling techniques, confidentiality regulations, motivational interviewing and group dynamics is a must. Master\u2019s level clinician preferred, bachelor\u2019s degree considered.
