Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, this position develops, maintains, oversees and coordinates the implementation and administration of the Volunteer Programs and associated activities to support the achievement of organizational outcomes and goals.
Through collaboration and consultation with Vice Presidents (VPs) and Directors, this position assesses and prioritizes organizational volunteer needs, recruits, retains and evaluates volunteers.
The incumbent facilitates the education, development and training of both adult and junior volunteers and actively participates in the development, design and implementation of volunteer activities.
In addition, this position oversees the Volunteer Services budget in alignment with department and organizational objectives.

Bachelor's Degree in Business and/or Healthcare Administration or the equivalent in education and/or experience preferred

Minimum two years coordination of volunteer program experience required, preferably in healthcare
Proven experience in project management in a healthcare setting
Knowledge of group facilitation, adult education/training and mentoring is required
Proven experience in operating within budget guidelines and efficient in data collection and report preparation
Knowledge and application of continuous process improvement
Experience with team and consensus building, volunteer or employee recruitment, supervision and retention
Knowledge of and ability to apply coordination and supervisory principles in the oversight of large numbers of volunteers
Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
Effective liaison, negotiation and communications skills required
Proven organization, prioritization and customer service skills
Proven ability to develop and meet budgetary objectives
Ability to identify and implement new volunteer opportunities
Capable of establishing rapport and partnerships with organizational management and staff
Ability to make reasonable, independent decisions in the absence of immediate direct supervision while staying within organizational and regulatory guidelines
The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions while meeting deadlines is required
Excellent computer skills in Windows based system, word processing, Microsoft Outlook, and typing skills of 45 CWPM preferred
Intermediate ability with MS Word, Excel, and Publisher software
Intermediate proficiency in MS Power Point and Volunteer Software
Basic office equipment familiarity and alpha numeric filing required
