POSITION SUMMARY The volunteer assistant coach for baseball is responsible for assisting the head baseball coach in implementing and directing all phases of a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program at DePauw University. This includes recruiting quality student-athletes, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, scouting, coaching, scheduling, budgeting and planning team travel in compliance with University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. The volunteer assistant coach provides leadership in the personal, academic, and athletic development of student-athletes. Volunteer coaches work under the direct supervision of paid staff when working with student-athletes. Volunteer coaches may work under indirect supervision of paid staff recruiting prospective student-athletes and in instances approved by the Theodore Katula Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports, a volunteer coach may drive student-athletes (a successful driving background check must be performed first).Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
