This position will be responsible for the Adolescent Program in Pelham, Adult Case Management in Calera and Clanton, and leading adult outpatient group sessions. Location will vary by day. Hours Mon- Thurs, 9am-7:30pm with Fridays off! Work location will vary by day between our Pelham, Calera and Clanton Outpatient locations.
Primary job functions and performance expectations:
1. Provide direct services to clients.
A. Ensures that all necessary information is obtained at the assessment interview.
B. Renders accurate diagnosis based on available information and according to DMH Standards and refers to appropriate level of treatment.
C. Exercises proper judgement as to when and where clients are referred.
D. Facilitates Substance Abuse treatment group, individual, and family sessions according to local and accepted professional standards.
E. Provides case management when needed according to local and accepted professional standards.
F. Provides all necessary information on clients to referral sources in a timely manner.
G. Responsible for maintenance of client files with completion of documentation that is concise, accurate and complete.
H. Provides consultation to community agencies regarding addiction/codependency issues.
I. Provides accurate expert witness testimony at court/attorneys request.
J. Assures prompt and appropriate response in emergency situations.
K. Develops and implements appropriate treatment goals within a client plan of care.
2. Maintains and provides liaison and education for the Center, other community agencies, and the general public.
A. Consultation and Education presentations are presented in an effective and professional manner.
B. Presentations are accurately targeted toward audience.
C. Effectively serves as a positive advocate for mental health services in the area.
3. Maintains and improves Professional Skills.
A. Attends and actively participates in professional workshops, (as approved by the Division Director), peer review, and Quality Assurance review.
B. Stays abreast of current substance abuse information by reading current publications in the field of knowledge.
C. Effectively utilizes people on staff for consultation.
D. Participates in minimum of 2 hours documented supervision each month with SA Division Director.
3. Maintains productivity requirement of 70% of hours worked.
Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, psychiatric nursing, or other behavioral health area with requisite course work equivalent to that of a degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or psychiatric nursing. Has successfully completed a relevant clinical practicum.
