Train and supervise Peer Health Educators. r Assist in the development and implementation of a communityr mobilization plan targeting outreach venues, evaluation of the program,r identification of prevention gaps/opportunities and strategies forr addressing these gaps in outreach venues, data entry and otherr administrative tasks.     r Gather and update data for the Referral Network, which will provider target populations and other community stakeholders with links to HIV testing,r STD screening/treatment, substance abuse treatment, mental health servicesr and other health education related areas.r Assist in the development, design and layout of social marketingr materials supporting prevention activities, including but not limited to;r program flyers, publicity campaigns, monthly calendars and other materialsr as needed.r Serve as speaker/facilitator for trainings, ensuring the provisionr of culturally and linguistically appropriate services. r Supervise volunteers as necessary, assist in the preparation ofr quantitative and qualitative reports as assigned, and attendr community/public meetings as necessary.r Maintain highest level of client confidentiality; follow HIPAAr regulations.r Attend departmental meetings and trainings.rrrrr                                                                                                      rrrrOTHER DUTIESrMAY BE ASSIGNED TO MEET BUSINESS NEEDS.rrrrrnnJob RequirementsnREQUIREMENTS:r rTraining andrExperience:rHigh school diplomarand/or successful completion of GED AND one year’s experience conductingroutreach to at-risk populations and have an understanding of psychosocial issuesrrelated to HIV/AIDS. Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.r rKnowledge of:rHealth disparities;rspectrum of HIV and STD disease; harm reduction theory; behavior modificationrtheory; human sexuality, substance use and abuse , motivational interviewingrtechniques; outreach strategies; data management; health and social concerns ofrdiverse populations of gay and non-gay identified MSM; risk reduction theory;rprinciples of social marketing; and venues where the target populationrcongregates, including the Internet.r rAbility to:rWork independently;rwork effectively with diverse staff, volunteers and professionals; workreffectively with diverse community stakeholders who may hold a wide range ofropinions on gay and non-gay identified MSM; organize stakeholders and engagercommunity building and establish linkages between stakeholders; identifyrparticular goals and objectives with respect to harm reduction; meet frequent,rsometimes conflicting deadlines in a rapidly changing environment; respond withrsensitivity to social inequities and diverse ethnic groups; maintainrconfidentiality.r rWORKINGrCONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: r rThis is primarily an office position thatrrequires only occasional bending, reaching, stooping, lifting and moving ofroffice materials weighing 25 pounds or less.
