The College of Lake County Foundation raises funds to help the college provide greater access to education and cultural enrichment for the citizens of Lake County. Each year, the


board of trustees identifies needs that are beyond the scope of the institutional budget, and the Foundation pursues resources to meet them through donations, grants and special events. Funds are used to support student scholarships, faculty and staff projects, the cultural arts and facility needs. The College of Lake County Foundation is a 501©(3) tax exempt organization in support of the College of Lake County.

Mission Statement: The College of Lake County Foundation raises money to fund scholarships and grants that provide our students an opportunity for a better future. Through these efforts the College of Lake County Foundation strengthens the vitality and well-being of the diverse communities we serve.

Throughout the year, we are in need of volunteers to assist in various Foundation sponsored events, and most engagements include welcoming event participants, working at registration desk to hand out materials, assisting with decorations, assisting with collecting materials at end of event and related event support. These events include:


Foundation Scholarship Reception


Foundation Golf Classic


Retiree Luncheon


Foundation Gala

Required Qualification

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must pass a criminal background check prior to volunteering.

The College of Lake County of Lake County seeks support from volunteers to provide assistance in various longer term and short term engagements.

CLC’s volunteers…

• have an opportunity to “give back” – they support our educational and student mission that they use themselves or that benefit people they care about

• may gain personal growth and self-efficacy

• help bring people together – uniting with people from diverse backgrounds toward a common goal

• may make new friends, expand your network/garner new professional contacts and boost your social skills

• help make a difference – every person counts!

In keeping with our commitment to ensure a safe environment, the College does require those wishing to volunteer to complete an application and must have a satisfactory background check. Additionally, Volunteers are expected to follow various compliance standards, and may be asked to participate in training programs related to their volunteer engagement.

Individuals selected for the


Foundation Volunteer Pool will be contacted by the Human Resources office to confirm the engagement and will receive additional information at that time. When a need arises for volunteer assistance, the members of the pool will be contacted about the volunteer opportunity by a


Foundation representative.
