Minimum Education Required:
To assist staff with patient or resident care in a day hospital, inpatient or residential setting.
AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY:
We have an inpatient opportunity on the Towson campus.
Assist staff in socialization activities with patients and residents.
Participates and encourages patient and resident patricipation in recreational and social activities.
May assist in preparation, serving, and clean up of meals.
4. Assists with routine program needs such as phones, filing and picking up/delivering items to the program.
5. Report observations of patient/resident behavior to appropriate staff.
*Successful completion of orientation and training as required by Volunteer Services and staff supervisor.
*Must be 18 years or older.
*Strong interest or background in psychology helpful.
*Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and staff information.
*Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients, staff, families, and visitors.
*Ability to respond quickly and accurately to staff direction.
*Maturity and level of judgement sufficient to deal effectively with patients in crisis.
